Building Strong Tenant Relationships
Interview with: Anca Mocan
Q1. How has your background shaped your approach to managing tenant relationships?
My background in law and operations taught me how important transparency and consistency are. When people know they can rely on you, trust naturally follows—and that’s the heart of great tenant relationships.
Q2. What’s the foundation of a strong tenant–landlord relationship?
It always starts with trust. When tenants feel heard, respected, and supported, everything else—communication, cooperation, even problem-solving—flows so much easier.
Q3. How do you balance tenant needs with owner expectations?
For me, it’s about being open and fair with everyone. When both tenants and owners know they can trust us to act with integrity, it creates balance and long-term stability.
Q4. Can you share a positive outcome from a difficult situation?
During the COVID-19 pandemic, tenants struggled with rent due to financial hardship. I listened, offered flexible payment plans, and kept communication open. That understanding approach strengthened trust and turned a difficult situation into positive relationships.
Q5. What makes SBRO stand out in tenant relations?
At SBRO, trust isn’t just a word—it’s how we work. We communicate clearly, keep our promises, and genuinely care about our tenants’ experience. That personal touch makes a big difference.
Q6. What advice would you give to property managers?
Be genuine and dependable. Small actions—like listening, following up, and keeping your word—build trust that lasts. That’s what turns a property into a community.
